Welcome to Sidney and Betty. My name is Preya and I am a dog lover, designer, knitter, sewer and fashion addict. I've always loved being creative and I remember getting my first pair of knitting needles when I was about seven and set about learning how to knit so I could make my doll an outfit. I loved creating clothes for all my toys and embellishing my own things to make them unique and special. I always desperately wanted a pet and if I'd been allowed a dog they would have been the best dressed pup around!
It wasn't until my first little dog (Sidney) came into my life that I started looking for lovely accessories for him to wear. I could never quite find what I wanted, something really unique, high quality, safe and special. Being a dog mama wasn't plain sailing at first - Sidney was a very hyper, stubborn little pup who just couldn't leave the cats alone (oh how stressful that was!). BUT he was also the most gentle and silly little boy in the world. We discovered that he loves recall and will do anything if he gets told he's a good boy. He's my best boy and he deserved outfits that would show that to the world!
I've always made clothes for myself and I love learning and challenging myself to try new techniques. So I started designing dog harnesses, drafting patterns and refining them over time. I try to be as sustainable as possible, the majority of my products are made with Harris Tweed, which can only be weaved in the Hebrides by Islanders. The wool comes from sheep on the islands that's spun into yarn, the yarn is dyed and weaved into cloth which is then finished in the mills and stamped with the Orb. It's a beautiful cloth that carries with it tradition, skill and magic. Other fabrics that I use are cottons and designer deadstock.
When I first launched my business I couldn't imagine where it is today. I'm lucky to be part of an amazing community of dog lovers. Every time I make a sale, or someone messages me to ask for something special it makes me feel so happy and proud. I love seeing wedding photos and I still can't believe that I get the privilege of making such important pieces.
I believe that quality craftsmanship speaks for itself. I take a lot of time and care over each and every piece. My aim is to make beautiful, bespoke dog accessories that fit your best friend perfectly.
